In Kazakhstan, 17,000 people own between six and ten apartments, according to infohub.kz.
Lyazzat Ibragimova, chairwoman of Otbasy Bank, presented data on housing distribution among Kazakh citizens during a podcast with former Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev. According to the data, 78% of homeowners (4.2 million people) have one apartment. About 1 million citizens own two apartments, and 219,000 own three. Between four and five apartments are owned by 82,000 people, while 17,000 own six to ten. Ibragimova did not rule out that some of the latter may be members of the same family.
At the same time, nearly 1.1 million citizens do not have their own housing, and this is only those on the waiting list. Otbasy Bank expects high effective demand in the next five years, based on the average age of Kazakhs being 29. This demographic is soon expected to be ready for mortgages and apartment purchases.
