Kazakhstan added two more medals to its tally at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, earning silver and bronze in canoe sprint. In the 500-meter finals, Olga Shmeleva and Tatyana Tokarnitskaya took silver in the women's kayak double, while Sergey and Timofey Yemelyanov claimed bronze in the men's canoe double, infohub.kz reports.
Shmeleva and Tokarnitskaya completed the 500 meters in 1 minute 48.140 seconds, finishing 3.130 seconds behind China's Yu Shimeng and Yin Mengde.
Uzbekistan's Arina Tanatmysheva and Yekaterina Shubina took bronze in 1:49.585.
