In the first six months of 2026, Kazakhstan's output of automotive parts and accessories reached 327.8 million tenge, a 52.7% increase compared to the same period last year, reports infohub.kz.
The production of automotive components has shown robust growth, with output totaling 327.8 million tenge in the half-year, up 52.7% year-on-year. Notably, this already accounts for 83% of the total output recorded for the entire year of 2025.
The growth has helped the industry recover a significant portion of the decline seen last year, when production amounted to 395.1 million tenge. For context, in 2020, output of auto components was valued at 76.5 million tenge, and in 2021 it stood at 139.1 million tenge.
The development of the component base extends beyond the products reflected in official statistics. Kazakhstani enterprises are now manufacturing car seats, multimedia systems, mufflers, bumpers, fuel and brake lines, wheel rims, tires, batteries, plastic parts, floor coverings, and electrical wiring.
One of the largest projects is the creation of a localization center in Kostanay Region, with a total investment of 67.2 billion tenge. Once operational, the facility will have an annual capacity of up to 60,000 sets of automotive components and is expected to create 600 new jobs.
Local production is also expanding in Almaty, where Astana Motors is building its own auto components cluster with an investment of 16 billion tenge. The project includes manufacturing of multimedia systems, car seats, heating and air conditioning systems, coverings, mufflers, tubes, and wire harnesses. According to the company, these initiatives will boost the localization level of car production in Kazakhstan to 51% within the next five to seven years.
