Kazakhstan's beach volleyball players have played two group-stage matches at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, with the national team recording one win and one loss, according to infohub.kz.
On September 20, preliminary-round matches in the men's tournament took place at Hekinan Ryokuchi Beach Court.
In Group E, the Kazakh duo of Sergey Bogatu and Kirill Gurin faced Indonesia's Imam Ahmad Faisal and Fairuz Baikhakli.
The first set was a tight battle and ended in a 24:22 win for the Kazakhs. In the second set, the opponents managed to level the score at 21:19.
The outcome was decided in the third set, where Bogatu and Gurin proved stronger, winning 15:12. The final match score was 2:1 in favor of Kazakhstan.
In another match, in Group G, Kazakhstan's Abdulmazhid Mohammad and Dmitry Yakovlev met Japan's Juntaro Tachiya and Yusuke Ishijima.
The Kazakh pair lost the first set 20:22 but managed to equalize by winning the second set 21:19. In the decisive set, the host team proved stronger, winning 15:12.
Thus, the Kazakh pair suffered a 1:2 defeat.
