From August 1 to 10, the border service of the National Security Committee prevented 411 attempts to illegally export fuel and lubricants across the state border, reports infohub.kz.
During this period, a total of 551 violations were suppressed, including 140 cases related to the transportation of consumer goods. The total value of prevented illegal movement of goods and cargo exceeded 1 billion tenge.
"The border service of the National Security Committee is constantly working at checkpoints to identify and suppress illegal activities," the press service of the National Security Committee noted.
The perpetrators have been brought to responsibility in accordance with the current legislation of Kazakhstan. The border service emphasized that work in this direction continues.
It is worth recalling that in July, the customs authorities of the republic also suppressed 392 attempts to illegally export fuel and lubricants.
Earlier, there were reports of rising gasoline prices in Kazakhstan. In addition, the Ministry of Energy has prepared a draft order to extend the ban on the export of gasoline, diesel fuel, and certain petroleum products from the country for another six months.
Olzhas Baidildinov, an expert in the oil and gas sector, energy, and tariff policy, believes that Kazakhstan needs to prepare in advance for a possible increase in pressure on the domestic petroleum products market.
