Kazakhstan is introducing mandatory labeling of calls from call centers, and the approximate timeline for the rollout is now known. Daniyar Seisembekov, head of the telecommunications committee at the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, announced this at a government briefing, according to infohub.kz.
According to him, legislative amendments requiring mandatory labeling of calls from call centers have already been adopted, and some of them have taken effect. The ministry is now drafting and coordinating rules for the provision of communications services, which will set out specific requirements.
"We have legislative amendments that require mandatory labeling of calls from call centers. Some of these amendments have already taken effect. Right now, our ministry is drafting and already coordinating the rules for the provision of communications services, where certain rules will be enshrined. There is an official request from the operators. They asked for implementation starting from the first quarter of 2027. (...) Everyone needs upgrades, since they all provide services, including telephony. That is why the operators made this request. The rules are currently being coordinated with government agencies. I think the minister's order will be signed by mid-October, and the deadlines will be set out there," Daniyar Seisembekov said.
Recall that in July it was reported that internet access, IP telephony, and trunked communication services would be provided only by licensed operators. In addition, calls from officials will be labeled to protect against fraudsters. The law took effect at the end of August.
