In August 2026, 166,500 motor vehicles were registered in Kazakhstan. Among the passenger cars registered, those manufactured more than 20 years ago accounted for the largest share, according to infohub.kz.
In total, 105,800 passenger cars were registered in August — 87.5% of the total. Of these, 46,600 (28%) were produced more than 20 years ago. By comparison, cars under 3 years old totaled 40,500, or 24.3% of all vehicles registered during the month.
Another 39,600 passenger cars (23.8%) were between 10 and 20 years old. Cars younger than 3 but not older than 7 years numbered almost 13,000 (7.8%), while those aged 7 to 10 years totaled 6,011 (3.6%).
Thus, cars over 10 years old accounted for 51.8% of August registrations.
As of September 1, 2026, a total of 6.09 million motor vehicles were registered in Kazakhstan. Of these, 5.1 million were passenger cars.
August statistics show a notable gap between new and older cars: 40,500 vehicles under 3 years old were registered, while those over 20 years old exceeded that figure by 6,100.
The largest number of old passenger cars was registered in Almaty Region — 6,254. Next came Zhambyl Region with 4,643 and Turkistan Region with 4,559.
