Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Kazakhstan Asqarbeck Yertaev, at a briefing at the Central Communications Service, explained the criteria by which a Kazakh citizen is classified as Category A — citizens with a high level of well-being, reports infohub.kz.

As the head of the ministry recalled, Category A unites people with a high level of well-being. "Here we have owners of large businesses, agricultural holdings, real estate. This is 329 thousand households, which is 5% of the total. What should be the income of a citizen in Category A? Income — from 350 thousand tenge per family member per month. Housing — over 120 square meters per person. That is, it could be several housing properties: one or two apartments, or an apartment, or a house. A citizen may have large enterprises: two or more medium-sized, or three or more small ones. A luxury car: Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maybach, Porsche, and so on. If he is engaged in agriculture, it is over 300 hectares of agricultural land. Also, if he is engaged in animal husbandry, it is over 500 head of cattle, and so on," the minister said.

Separately, Asqarbeck Yertaev gave an anonymized example of a large family of Category A consisting of six people — mother, father, and four children. "Here the income received by the household per person is 458 thousand tenge per month. That is, for all children, for the spouse, for himself. They have a house of 480 square meters, an apartment — 300 square meters. If divided per person, for six people, that is 130 square meters per person. Their car is a 2023 Bentley. There is commercial real estate — a 150-square-meter store. One small enterprise owned by the spouse, an LLP. This is a specific example, anonymized, of a household from Category A. It is precisely such citizens, households, that will be included in Category A," the minister explained.
