Kazakhstan is set to test Chinese desert algae biotechnology for restoring degraded land and combating desertification, in collaboration with Chinese specialists, reports Orda.kz.

The initiative was discussed during a meeting between Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Yerlan Nyssanbayev and representatives of Ji Di Zao (Beijing) Biotechnology.

Both sides examined the technology's potential for soil restoration, ecological agriculture, and mitigating desertification. Particular focus was placed on experimental results from the dried bed of the Aral Sea and the prospects for adapting the method to Kazakhstan's natural conditions.
