Kazakhstanis will be able to drive in China without taking exams, and Chinese citizens in Kazakhstan. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has prepared a draft agreement on mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses between the two countries... reports infohub.kz.
According to the regulatory legal act, citizens of Kazakhstan and China will have the right to use their valid national driving licenses on the territory of the host country to drive passenger vehicles.
The key innovation will be the possibility of direct exchange of documents. Citizens of the two countries, temporarily or permanently staying in the partner state, will be able to exchange their driving licenses without having to undergo retraining and pass qualification exams. This procedure will be carried out in compliance with the requirements of the host country's domestic legislation.
The goal of the intergovernmental agreement is to simplify administrative procedures and stimulate transport, tourism, and business ties between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China.
The implementation of the project and the exchange of documents will begin after the official signing of the agreement, the completion of all domestic procedures, and the entry into force of the document.
Recall that on July 25, similar diplomatic agreements with Middle Eastern countries were reported. According to the signed documents, Kazakhstanis received the right to exchange their national driving licenses in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) without having to pass additional theoretical and practical exams.
