Weather forecasters have warned of a sharp change in weather across Kazakhstan from October 3 to 5: the warm days of late September will give way to cold and stormy conditions, according to infohub.kz.
NUR.KZ reports, citing the state-owned Kazhydromet weather service, that the shift is due to a powerful northern cyclone.
According to the forecasters, precipitation in the form of rain and snow will fall almost everywhere in the coming days. In the north of the country, snow, ice and drifting snow are expected at night toward the end of the period. Only the south and east will see rain. Fog is expected in the west and north during the night and morning hours. Stronger winds are forecast across the country.
Air temperatures in Kazakhstan's regions are expected to be as follows: in the northern half of the country, nighttime temperatures will drop to -1-6°C; daytime temperatures in the northwest, north and center are expected to fall to 0,+5°C; in the east, up to +7+12°C; in the south and southeast, up to +10+15°C; in mountainous areas, 0,+5°C; in the west, temperatures are expected to rise to +10+18°C.
