Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned Houthi militia attacks on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia that resulted in loss of life, infohub.kz reports.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan strongly condemns the attacks by Houthi militia on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, which caused human casualties. Such attacks are unacceptable from a humanitarian standpoint and violate international law. These actions undermine efforts to stabilize the situation in Yemen and hinder a political settlement of the conflict," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Kazakhstan called for an immediate end to the attacks and for resolving the crisis exclusively through political and diplomatic means.
"Kazakhstan expresses solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and affirms its right to protect its sovereignty and security in accordance with the UN Charter," the ministry added.
Earlier today, it was reported that at least 12 people were killed and 309 injured in an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Yemen's Houthis, who fired a missile at the facility, are blamed for the attack.
Among the dead, as previously reported, were four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshis, one US citizen, one Egyptian, one Jordanian, one Syrian, one Palestinian and one Sudanese. Some of the injured are in critical condition.
The Foreign Ministry said there were no Kazakh citizens among the dead or injured.
