Kazakhstan strongly condemns attacks by Houthi militants on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia that resulted in loss of life. The country's foreign ministry said this, according to infohub.kz.
According to Kazakh diplomats, such attacks are unacceptable from a humanitarian standpoint and violate international law.
"These actions undermine efforts to stabilize the situation in Yemen and hinder a political settlement of the conflict. We call for an immediate end to the attacks and for resolving the crisis exclusively through political and diplomatic means," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan said.
Kazakhstan expressed solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and affirmed its right to protect its sovereignty and security in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that, according to preliminary data from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there were no Kazakh citizens among the dead or injured in the attacks in Riyadh.
King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital was hit by a series of missile and drone attacks. Responsibility for the attacks was attributed to Yemen's Houthis.
The latest large-scale attack killed 12 people and injured another 309 with injuries of varying severity. Among the dead were citizens of Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan.
