Nearly one in three Kazakh crypto users already pays for goods and services with digital assets, and more than 90% expect crypto to spread further in the country over the next 3–5 years. The findings come from a Binance Kazakhstan survey of almost 2,000 of its users, according to infohub.kz.

Cryptocurrencies have traditionally been seen as a speculative asset, bought mainly to resell for profit. But the survey results show that interest in digital assets is growing very quickly, and almost a third of respondents already use them to pay for purchases.

Among the purposes for current or potential crypto use, 60.2% of participants cited investment, 58.5% additional income, 48.8% long-term savings, and 42.6% trading. Practical scenarios also feature prominently: 32.8% chose payment for goods and services, and 25.1% international transfers.

Kazakhstanis expect the most noticeable changes in the practical use of digital assets. In particular, 64.6% of respondents believe crypto payments will develop fastest over the next 3–5 years — the highest figure among the options offered.

International transfers rank second at 42.6%, with almost as many participants choosing investment at 42.1%. Another 35% expect rapid growth in crypto cards, and 27.8% in stablecoins.

"These expectations go hand in hand with a shift in how the market itself is perceived: 40.3% of respondents believe the crypto market is gradually becoming more practical, while another 25.1% say it is already part of the financial system," Binance Kazakhstan said.

Survey participants take a positive view of the future prospects for digital assets in Kazakhstan. According to the exchange, 91.2% believe crypto use in the country will become more widespread over the next 3–5 years: 46.4% answered "probably yes," and another 44.8% expect significant growth.

Almost half of participants — 47.9% — believe that in five years cryptocurrencies will become part of everyday finance, while 20.3% expect them to be used mainly for investment.

"The survey results show that users' interest in digital assets is becoming more diverse. Investment retains an important role, but at the same time interest is growing in practical scenarios — payments, transfers and other financial operations. It is especially telling that crypto payments are most often named by participants as the area that will develop fastest in the coming years. To further develop the market, it is important to keep working on accessibility, security and user education," said Nurhat Kushimov, General Manager of Binance Kazakhstan.
