The Disinformation Counteraction Center under the Central Communications Service (CCS) has debunked false information circulating on the social network Threads claiming that military equipment of the Kazakh Armed Forces allegedly did not return to its permanent deployment locations after international exercises, infohub.kz reports.
According to the Center, the false claim asserted that after international military exercises, "equipment of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan did not return to its permanent deployment locations." The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan stated that this information is untrue: "after the exercises concluded on October 6, 2026, the equipment was returned to its permanent basing locations."
The Center's statement emphasizes that the author deliberately accompanied the false information with a manipulative question about whether the situation could be regarded as providing military assistance to a foreign state or as "betrayal of the Motherland." "Such framing draws an uninformed audience into an emotional debate, creates a false causal link, and shapes users' distorted perception of the actual circumstances, thereby misleading them," the statement says.
According to the Center's specialists, a real event—the conduct of military exercises—is used here, with an unreliable detail added to it. The original message then continues to circulate through comments, reposts, forwards, and screenshots.
"The false thesis becomes an independent subject of discussion and may be perceived by users as a confirmed fact. The dissemination of knowingly false or unreliable information may entail legal consequences provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the publication notes.
It was previously reported that from September 21 to October 5, a planned movement of military equipment and personnel was carried out across Kazakhstan by rail to the station of Miass (Chelyabinsk Region, Russia) and back.
