The new trading week in Kazakhstan began with a notable decline in the dollar exchange rate. As of Monday, August 17, the US currency lost more than two tenge, while the euro remained relatively stable. Current exchange rates at local exchange offices are reported by infohub.kz.

During trading on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), the weighted average dollar rate fell by 2.58 tenge to 461.39 tenge. Thus, the national currency continues to strengthen: exactly a week ago, this figure stood at 466.08 tenge.

At exchange offices in the country's largest cities, as of 15:30, according to the Kurs.kz portal, the following buy and sell rates for cash US dollars were in effect: in Astana, buying at 459 tenge, selling at 466 tenge; in Almaty, buying from 457.7 to 463 tenge, selling from 463.3 to 464.7 tenge; in Shymkent, buying from 461 to 462.5 tenge, selling from 463.5 to 464.5 tenge.

The euro, in turn, showed no significant fluctuations. Exchange offices across the country offered the following prices for the European currency: in Astana, buying at 530 tenge, selling at 540 tenge; in Almaty, buying from 527 to 534 tenge, selling from 536 to 541 tenge; in Shymkent, buying from 530 to 536 tenge, selling from 537 to 545 tenge.
