In Kazakhstan, certain categories of students can receive compensation for dormitory living expenses. The payment amounts to 29 MCI, which is 100,050 tenge per year, reports infohub.kz.

Akerke Abylaykhan, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, explained the conditions for receiving this support measure on the program "Bugin Live" on the Jibek Joly TV channel.

Orphans, students with disabilities of groups I and II, and students with disabilities since childhood are eligible for compensation.

Akerke Abylaykhan emphasized that the payment is not only for first-year students. "The funds in the amount of 100,050 tenge are provided not only in the first year – this support can be received in the second and third years as well. This measure is aimed at supporting students in this category," she noted.

Thus, if the established conditions are met, students from these categories can receive compensation for dormitory living expenses over several years of study.

According to the government of Kazakhstan, a total of 7,145 people should receive the payment, of which 4,651 are orphaned students.
