At a government briefing, the Minister of Education was asked what motivation a school psychologist has to deal with teenagers' problems if they earn 140,000 tenge, reports infohub.kz.

The salary of 140,000 tenge for school psychologists raised questions about their motivation to work with adolescent issues. Minister of Education Zhuldyz Suleimenova acknowledged that this problem exists and is systemic, as the remuneration for these pedagogical workers is regulated by Government Resolution No. 1193. She noted that changes were made during budget formation, but this requires confirmation from 20 state bodies. Additionally, social educators receive 118,000 tenge, and this issue was recently discussed.

According to the minister, this is a systemic issue tied to the state's economic capabilities. This year, a new course on "Personal Safety" was introduced, and psychologists who teach additional hours will receive extra pay. The issue of social educators' salaries is also being monitored.

"This issue, frankly, is systemic, and we are doing everything possible to resolve it," the minister added.
