Kazakhstanis who discover medical services in their records that they never actually received can file a complaint against the hospital. The eGov Mobile app makes this possible through a dedicated service, infohub.kz reports.
Kazakhstan has repeatedly recorded cases of hospitals attributing medical services to citizens that were never actually provided. Recently, for example, authorities in Pavlodar uncovered records of medical services supposedly rendered to deceased citizens, as well as gynecological services listed for men.
Such practices cannot be tolerated. According to the Social Health Insurance Fund (FSMS), illegal phantom medical services must be reported.
There is no need to go anywhere to do so. Users simply need to use the "History of Medical Services" feature in the eGov Mobile app, found in the "Health" section of their profile.
There, users can view information about the medical care they received, including its name, the date and time it was provided, and the source of funding.
If it turns out that some of the listed services were never received, the user can tap the "Complain" button and state this in an application. The fund will then conduct a review, and measures will be taken based on its findings.
The service operates as part of the "People's Control" platform. According to the FSMS, around 6,300 citizen appeals have already been submitted through it.
Meanwhile, note that starting in 2027, Kazakhstanis will be able to receive basic medical care at polyclinics regardless of their status in the mandatory social health insurance (OSMS) system. You can read here about the rights of Kazakhstanis who pay OSMS contributions.
