Modernization of roadside infrastructure along Kazakhstan's highways continues. Currently, 1,429 service facilities operate on international and national roads, with 94% meeting national standards, according to infohub.kz.
By 2026, the share of compliant facilities is planned to reach 95%. Additionally, more gas stations, food outlets, and sanitary facilities will be added along the highways.
More than 170 modular restrooms have been installed along the roads. Over 900 free toilets are also available at rest areas and bus stops, accessible to drivers and passengers around the clock.
Responsibility for maintenance lies with KAZservice LLP, private facility owners, and tenants. The agency notes that sanitary and technical conditions are checked daily.
There are also 67 electric charging stations on national and international highways. The charging infrastructure covers most regions of Kazakhstan, and its network continues to expand in cooperation with businesses and executive bodies.
The development of the EV charging network aims to facilitate wider use of electric vehicles not only in major cities but also on long-distance interregional trips.
