Kazakhstan's Ministry of Finance has presented its forecast for key social indicators for 2027-2029, based on the draft republican budget. According to the document, most indicators will increase annually by 7-8.5%, but the minimum wage will remain unchanged... reports infohub.kz.
Specifically, the monthly calculation index (MCI) will rise from 4,325 to 4,693 tenge in 2027. In 2028, it is expected to increase to 5,022 tenge, and in 2029 to 5,374 tenge, corresponding to an annual growth of about 7%.
The subsistence minimum will also be raised: in 2027 it will be 55,173 tenge (currently 50,851 tenge), in 2028 about 59,000 tenge, and in 2029 approximately 63,000 tenge.
The minimum pension, according to the forecast, will increase to 74.9 thousand tenge in 2027 (currently 69,049 tenge), to 80 thousand tenge in 2028, and to 85.8 thousand tenge in 2029. Of this amount, the minimum basic pension paid to all citizens from the budget will be: in 2027 – 38,622 tenge (currently 35,596 tenge), in 2028 – 41,325 tenge, in 2029 – 44,217 tenge.
The only indicator that will not change is the minimum wage (MZW) – it will be fixed at 85,000 tenge for all three years.
Earlier it was reported that according to the draft budget for 2027-2029, the average basic pension in Kazakhstan in 2027 will be 59,000 tenge, and the solidarity pension – 111.6 thousand tenge. Recall that the pension in Kazakhstan consists of basic and solidarity payments from the budget, as well as payments from the UAPF. The solidarity pension is assigned to citizens with at least six months of work experience before January 1, 1998. The basic and solidarity payments together form the total pension.
