False information is circulating on social media claiming that Kazakhstan's Finance Minister Madi Takiev allegedly issued an "investment activity license." The Ministry of Finance has officially responded to these posts and urged citizens to stay vigilant, according to infohub.kz.
"We inform you that this information is unreliable and does not correspond to reality. The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan does not license brokerage, dealer, investment or any other professional activity on the financial market," the ministry said.
The ministry explained that under Kazakh law, licensing, registration and supervision of investment companies, brokers and other professional participants in the financial market fall exclusively within the competence of the authorized state body.
"Any organization offering services on the financial market of the Republic of Kazakhstan is required to undergo the registration procedure established by law and obtain the appropriate permit under current legislation," the Finance Ministry emphasized.
The Ministry of Finance urged citizens to be vigilant and to verify the legitimacy of financial organizations solely through official state registries.
