Kazakhstan has launched a pilot version of the FinOtinish digital platform, allowing consumers of financial services to directly contact banks when problems arise. The service was initiated by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, according to infohub.kz.

The new tool gives borrowers the ability to submit a complaint to a financial institution and track its review. If the issue cannot be resolved at the bank level, the application can be forwarded to the banking ombudsman.

When filing a request, the user selects the relevant topic — from overdue payments and unwanted calls from the bank to cashback issues and mobile app malfunctions.

Currently, the platform allows users to contact four second-tier banks: Freedom Bank, Bank CenterCredit, Alatau City Bank, and Otbasy Bank.

Following the pilot project, the remaining banks are expected to be connected gradually and the platform's accessibility for consumers expanded.

Use of the service is voluntary and free. At the same time, citizens retain the option to send complaints to the Agency via the e-Otinish system, to the banking ombudsman, or to court.

Earlier, Kazakhstan launched the unified Finkelisim.kz platform, through which borrowers can settle their debts with all creditors at once.
