Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Norway, Adil Tursunov, attended the state funeral of King Harald V, which took place in Oslo, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, on September 9, the Kazakh diplomat was present at the mourning ceremony held in Oslo Cathedral. During the event, he signed the official book of condolences and took part in the farewell to the monarch.
The ceremony was attended by about a thousand guests, including members of the royal families of Norway and other countries, heads of state and government, members of the Norwegian parliament (Storting), representatives of the diplomatic corps, and the public.
It is recalled that on August 28, King Harald V of Norway passed away at the age of 89. It is reported that he died peacefully in a hospital. After his death, the throne passed to his son, Haakon.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a telegram of condolences to the new King of Norway, Haakon VIII, in connection with the death of his father.
