In January–June 2026, Kazakhstan's oil refineries increased output of most major petroleum products. Growth was recorded for gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and road bitumen, while fuel oil production declined compared to the same period last year, reports infohub.kz.
“As of January–June, gasoline output reached 3.04 million tonnes, up 1.4% from the first half of 2025,” OilGazLook reported.
Diesel fuel output totaled 3.15 million tonnes, a 2.7% increase year-on-year.
The most notable growth among major petroleum products was road bitumen. Over six months, its production reached 499,000 tonnes, 20% higher than in the same period last year.
Aviation kerosene output also rose significantly. In the first half, the country produced 427,000 tonnes, up 13% from a year earlier.
“The only product that saw a decline was fuel oil. Its output amounted to 700,000 tonnes, or 68.6% of the January–June 2025 level,” the publication's analysts noted.
Thus, the first-half results indicate growth in key motor fuel and petroleum product output, which is in demand both in the transport sector and road construction. At the same time, the decline in fuel oil production reflects a shift in the production structure at domestic refineries.
