More than 30 commercial documents worth a total of about $2 billion were signed following Kazakh-German talks in Berlin. President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev announced this at a joint briefing with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, according to infohub.kz.
According to the head of state, the practical implementation of the contracts reached will strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
"During the talks, more than 30 commercial documents were signed for a total of about $2 billion. It is clear that with the effective implementation of these contracts, cooperation between the two countries will become even stronger," the President's words were cited by Akorda.
Qasym-Jomart Toqaev described Germany as a reliable strategic partner of Kazakhstan in Europe and recalled that it was one of the first to recognize the republic's independence. In 2027, 35 years will have passed since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states.
The President emphasized that over the years, Kazakhstan and Germany have significantly expanded trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian ties, formed a solid legal framework, and strengthened cooperation within international organizations.
On September 30, Qasym-Jomart Toqaev plans to visit Bavaria, where he will hold meetings with high-ranking representatives of the region and take part in the Kazakh-Bavarian Technology Forum.
During the talks, the parties also discussed the regional and global agenda. Kazakhstan and Germany confirmed their commitment to resolving conflicts exclusively by peaceful and diplomatic means and agreed to develop dialogue in the "Central Asia — Germany" format.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Toqaev invited Merz to visit Kazakhstan on a state visit. In 2025, trade turnover between the countries reached $4.5 billion, and the volume of German investment over 21 years amounted to $8 billion. The joint portfolio of Kazakhstan and Germany includes 40 industrial projects worth about $54 billion.
