On the third day of the 6th World Nomad Games, Kazakhstan's national team won 12 gold medals, reports infohub.kz.
In the national game of audaryspak (er enish), where riders try to pull each other off their horses, Syrym Izbasarov won in the weight category up to 100 kg, becoming a three-time champion of the Nomad Games. Another Kazakh, Daryn Otkelbai, took gold in the up to 90 kg category. Nurzhan Erkinuly won bronze in the over 100 kg division.
In the kusbegilik (hunting with birds of prey) competitions, Kazakhstan won four awards. Serikbolsyn Zhalgasuly became the strongest in the hawk contest. Arman Koshkarov won silver with a golden eagle. Bakdaulet Babazhan took silver in the falcon tournament, and another Kazakh, Yerlan Kenjetaev, won bronze in this discipline.
In sambo, Bolat Sapar won in the over 98 kg weight category. Bronze medals were won by Yerkebulan Nygmetov (up to 79 kg) and Zhandos Beisenbaev (up to 64 kg).
In the national wrestling style of Kyrgyz kurosh, Kazakh Almas Zhumagali lost in the final and became the silver medalist in the over 100 kg weight category.
The national arm wrestling team won seven gold medals in a day. Champions included Nurdaulet Aidarkhan (up to 90 kg, left and right arms), Medet Kuttymuratov (over 90 kg, left and right arms), Malena Sydykzhan (over 65 kg, left and right arms), and Danil Ustinov (up to 80 kg, left arm). The team also earned five more awards in this discipline: two silvers for Ulzhan Oralbai (up to 65 kg, left and right arms), one silver for Ustinov (right arm), and a silver and a bronze for Bakhyt Akzhigitov (up to 70 kg, left and right arms).
Kazakhstan also won another gold in tug of war: on Thursday, it became the strongest in the 4x4 format, and the day before it won the 8x8 tournament.
The Nomad Games will continue in Kyrgyzstan until September 6 inclusive.
