In Kazakhstan, more than 127,000 applications have been submitted this year for the competition for state educational grants, reports infohub.kz.
As noted on the website of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the republican commission has already reviewed applicants' submissions. Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis, taking into account scores obtained on the Unified National Testing (UNT) and approved rules.
The most popular fields among applicants are "Pedagogical Sciences," "Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction Industries," and "Information and Communication Technologies." The ministry emphasized that the highest competition for one grant is expected among future translators, diplomats, lawyers, psychologists, and teachers.
The results of the competitive selection will be published by August 10 on the official social media pages of Minister Sayasat Nurbek, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the National Testing Center. The deadline for submitting documents to universities is August 25.
