Kazakhstan has released interim results of the certification of heads and deputy heads of maternity care organizations, children's hospitals and ambulance stations: 20% of test-takers, or one in five, failed to reach the passing score, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, the first stage of certification — testing — began on October 14. As of November 2, 2026, 235 people from 15 regions had taken part, accounting for 72.1% of the total number subject to certification.
Preliminary results show that 188 participants, or 80%, passed the test successfully. Another 47 people (20%) did not score the required number of points. Among them were 25 heads and 22 deputies. In addition, 27 people did not show up for testing.
The highest number of negative results was recorded in Akmola, Mangystau and Kostanay regions. These three regions account for 55.3% of all participants who failed to reach the passing score. In Astana and Pavlodar region, all participants passed the test successfully.
The ministry stressed that assessing the professional competence of managers is directly relevant to the quality and safety of medical care. Management decisions determine how institutions are organized, the efficiency of internal processes and the timeliness of medical services. The ministry also noted that the certification applies exclusively to heads and deputy heads of the specified medical organizations.
Under the Rules for Certification of Professional Competence, participants who receive a negative test result are not admitted to the interview and must undergo re-certification after six months.
The Ministry of Health clarified that the data presented are interim results of the first stage, not the final outcome of the certification. Testing will continue until the end of December 2026.
