Kazakhstan's Ministry of Health has issued recommendations for parents on organizing proper nutrition for schoolchildren, reports infohub.kz.
The ministry, on its Instagram page, presented options for distributing a schoolchild's daily meals: breakfast, snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner.
"School age is a period of active growth and development. Therefore, complete and balanced nutrition is especially important: it helps maintain the child's energy, concentration, and performance throughout the day," the ministry explained.
It is noted that a student's diet should include: more vegetables and fruits; dairy and fermented milk products; sources of protein - meat, fish, eggs, and legumes; whole grain products; and sufficient water.
"At the same time, it is worth limiting foods high in sugar, salt, and saturated fats, as well as sweet carbonated drinks and frequent snacking on ultra-processed foods. It is important not only what the child eats, but also how: a regular eating schedule, a calm atmosphere at the table, and the personal example of parents help form healthy habits," the Ministry of Health addressed parents.
