Kazakhstan's Ministry of Health has put a draft order out for public discussion that clarifies the list of diseases allowing sick leave longer than two months, reports infohub.kz.
The document was published on the Open NPAs portal. It concerns the draft order "On Amendments to the Order of the Minister of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 28, 2015 No. 1033 'On Approval of the List of Diseases for Which the Period of Temporary Disability Exceeds Two Months'."
According to the ministry, the changes aim to ensure that diseases in the document are defined unambiguously and uniformly across the country. "The changes are aimed at ensuring that diseases in the document are defined unambiguously and uniformly across the country. The corresponding amendments are provided for in the draft order on introducing changes to the current list of diseases," the explanatory note to the regulatory legal act states.
It is proposed to supplement the names of diseases with the corresponding codes of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD). "This will allow for more accurate identification of the disease and eliminate differing interpretations when applying the list in practice. Thus, the changes are clarifying in nature and aimed at improving current regulation and forming unified approaches to working with the list of diseases," the Ministry of Health explained.
The draft has been put out for public discussion until October 5.
