More than 500 trucks have been inspected, and 302 were restricted from driving due to heat, according to the results of a month-long campaign in Kazakhstan, inbusiness.kz reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In Kazakhstan, a preventive campaign called 'Attention! Heavy Vehicle!' has been running from July 10 to August 10, aimed at strengthening control over the transportation of oversized and heavy cargo and preserving roads. At the same time, a seasonal temperature regime is in effect, imposing temporary restrictions on the movement of trucks during high-temperature hours to prevent road surface damage.
Restrictions are imposed when the air temperature exceeds +25°C and apply to certain categories of freight transport. They do not affect international and passenger transportation, nor the transport of perishable, dangerous, or humanitarian goods. Exceptions also apply to vehicles involved in emergency response, road works, and military transport. Compliance with weight and size norms and temperature regime requirements is monitored by territorial transport control authorities.
As part of the campaign, specialists inspected over 500 heavy vehicles. The inspections revealed 281 violations of transport legislation, including 116 cases of exceeding permissible vehicle weight. Additionally, due to non-compliance with seasonal temperature regime requirements, the movement of 302 trucks was restricted. For all identified violations, carriers were brought to administrative responsibility.
The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan urged carriers to plan routes and travel schedules in advance, taking into account current seasonal restrictions, to avoid violations and ensure road preservation.
