Over the next three days, a northwest cyclone will determine the weather in Kazakhstan, bringing rain, thunderstorms, and cooler temperatures to almost the entire country, while western regions remain in the grip of heat, reports infohub.kz.
According to Kazhydromet, the cyclone will move across Kazakhstan, causing rain with thunderstorms. Heavy downpours are expected in some areas, with hail possible. Cold air masses feeding the cyclone will lead to a drop in temperatures. At the same time, the west of the country will continue to be influenced by warm, dry air from Iran, halting precipitation and causing temperatures to rise. Daytime highs there are forecast at +34…+39°C, with extreme +40…+44°C in some areas.
On July 22, in Astana, daytime temperatures will reach +22…+24°C, with heavy rain, thunderstorms, fog, and gusts of 15–20 m/s. In Almaty, the temperature will rise to +27…+29°C, partly cloudy with occasional rain and thunderstorms, and wind up to 15 m/s. In Shymkent, it will be up to +30…+32°C, also partly cloudy with brief rain, thunderstorms, and squalls.
