In July 2026, Kazakhstan's annual inflation rate stood at 10.2%, down 0.1 percentage points from June's 10.3%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.6%, compared to 0.8% the previous month, according to infohub.kz.

Data from the Bureau of National Statistics show that the slowdown was partly driven by seasonal declines in vegetable and fruit prices. Specifically, cucumbers fell by 22.6%, tomatoes by 17.7%, carrots by 5.3%, bananas by 4%, apples by 2.7%, oranges by 2.3%, and lemons and potatoes by 1.6%. Egg prices also dropped by 1.4%, and pearl barley by 1.3%.

Among non-food items in July, used cars became cheaper by 3.8%, electric meat grinders by 2.2%, laundry soap by 1.5%, smartphones and glasses by 1.3% each, and hair dye by 0.7%.

On an annual basis, non-food goods rose by 11.7%, food by 10.1%, and paid services by 9.2%. Compared to July last year, prices for certain vegetables and fruits saw notable declines: cucumbers fell by 31.6%, tomatoes by 26.5%, onions by 10.9%, garlic by 8.1%, oranges by 7.8%, apples by 4.7%, and rice by 4.1%.

Among non-food products, domestically assembled cars saw the largest drop at 16.2%. Air conditioners fell by 10.8%, medical thermometers by 7.5%, and bandages by 6.4%.

The consumer price index in Kazakhstan is calculated monthly based on observations of 537 types of goods and services. Since January 2026, the inflation basket has consisted of 41.1% food products, 28.4% non-food goods, and 30.5% paid services.
