Inflation in Kazakhstan continues to slow, but the annual rate still exceeds the 10% threshold. As of July 2026, price growth stood at 10.2%, down 0.1 percentage points from June. Over the month, consumer prices rose by an average of 0.6%, according to infohub.kz.
According to the Bureau of National Statistics, prices have increased by 5.7% since the beginning of the year. Food products rose by 0.4% over the month, while non-food products and paid services increased by 0.7%.
On an annual basis, the highest growth was recorded in the non-food segment at 11.7%. This figure has remained at the same level since April 2026, marking the fourth consecutive month. Food products have risen by 10.1% over the year, and paid services by 9.2%.
Regional inflation varies significantly. The North Kazakhstan Region leads with annual inflation at 12.8%. In the Ulytau Region, it reached 12.7%, and in the Zhetisu Region, 12.6%. In major cities, inflation is lower: in Astana – 9.8%, in Shymkent – 9.7%, and in Almaty – 9%. The lowest inflation was recorded in the Karaganda Region at 8.7%.
Among categories of goods and services, the highest annual increase was in recreation and culture services – 16.6%. Personal care and social protection services rose by 14.7%, and healthcare by 14.6%. Alcohol and tobacco products became 12.9% more expensive, transport – 11.5%, clothing and footwear, as well as restaurants and hotels – 10.9%.
The smallest price increase was in insurance and financial services – just 1.1%. Housing and utility services rose by 5.7%, and communication by 6%.
