Starting October 21, 2026, insurance payouts under mandatory civil liability insurance for vehicle owners (OSGPO VTS) in Kazakhstan will be made exclusively in non-cash form. Funds will be transferred to bank accounts of beneficiaries, reports infohub.kz.

According to the Agency for Regulation and Development of Financial Market (ARDFM), the costs of bank transfers and crediting of funds are borne by the insurance company, ensuring that the full insurance payout is received without any deductions.

This reform aims to increase transparency of insurance payouts, protect consumer rights, and further develop digital services in Kazakhstan's insurance market. The transition to non-cash payments eliminates opaque loss adjustment schemes and guarantees that funds go directly to the affected person.

The new rule takes effect on October 21, 2026.

Earlier it was reported that driving style and fines would affect the cost of insurance in Kazakhstan.
