Kazakhstan's Interior Ministry has intensified its fight against illegal content on social media. According to the ministry, more than two dozen streamers have already been brought to administrative responsibility across the country for violating public order during live broadcasts, reports infohub.kz.
A monitoring campaign revealed that streamers, seeking to monetize content and grow their audience, systematically ignored the law. The main violations include profanity, indecent and aggressive behavior, dangerous pranks, and public insults. The ministry emphasizes that such materials pose a serious threat, as minors have free access to them on a daily basis.
To date, courts have issued rulings against specific offenders in various regions. In Pavlodar, 26-year-old Aslan Amantaev was sentenced to 20 days of arrest for broadcasting with profanity while driving without a seatbelt. In Shymkent, 48-year-old Yerbol Duisenbayev was arrested for ten days for using profanity in a live TikTok broadcast. In Taldykorgan, 44-year-old Gulmira Kasenova was fined for repeated violation of public order and using profanity on TikTok. In Turkistan, Bayan Shankeeva was fined for aggressive behavior and profanity in live broadcasts.
Law enforcement intends to continue systematic work to monitor and cleanse the digital space of illegal materials. The ministry reminded that legal norms and the principle of "Law and Order" apply equally in real life and online.
Earlier it was reported that the amount of illegal content detected in Kaznet doubled in 2024.
