The 30-year-old man was detained in a joint operation by officers from the North Kazakhstan Regional Criminal Police Department, the Criminal Police Department of the Kazakh Interior Ministry, and with assistance from the Kazakh Consulate General in Antalya.

“According to the investigation, from August to September 2021, the suspect and his accomplices defrauded Kazakh citizens of more than 6 million tenge,” the North Kazakhstan Regional Police Department said.

On July 16, the man was deported from Turkey to Kazakhstan, where he will face investigation.

Police noted that since the beginning of 2026, officers in North Kazakhstan have detained four people wanted for fraud. According to case files, the total damage from their actions is estimated at 568 million tenge.

Previously, Turkey extradited a suspected fraudster dubbed the “hacker from Atyrau” to Kazakhstan. The man gained notoriety on social media after a high-profile case involving the murder of an entire family in Atyrau region. A video circulated online showing the detainee claiming he was conducting his own “investigation.”
