Kazakhstan improved its position in an investment ranking by 17 spots over six months, coming in 53rd among 150 countries in the May 2026 Safest Countries for Investors ranking, according to infohub.kz.
In October 2025, the country was ranked 70th. The jump reflects growing international confidence in Kazakhstan's economic stability and the effectiveness of its policies ensuring macroeconomic stability, institutional development, and a favorable investment climate. Kazakhstan maintains its lead in the region, outperforming all Central Asian nations as well as several larger economies.
A key feature of this ranking is that it evaluates not the volume of investments attracted but the level of safety for investors based on long-term economic and institutional resilience. The methodology considers a broad set of factors, including macroeconomic stability, governance quality, political and currency risks, regulatory effectiveness, and the economy's ability to withstand external crises. Kazakhstan's strong performance mirrors international investors' perception of the country as a predictable and relatively stable jurisdiction capable of maintaining stability amid global economic uncertainty.
Further strengthening Kazakhstan's investment appeal depends on consistent improvements in institutional quality, enhanced investor protection mechanisms, and transparent business conditions. Sustaining this positive trend will not only lift the country's position in international rankings but also boost foreign capital trust, serving as an additional driver for sustainable economic growth and Kazakhstan's competitiveness in the global investment market.
