An unusual listing has appeared on Kazakhstan's real estate market. A 22.5-hectare island in the East Kazakhstan region has been put up for sale for $10 million, according to the website infohub.kz.
The listing caught the attention of local journalists. It was posted by the founder of an international real estate agency. The exact location of the island is not publicly disclosed; full details are provided only to potential investors. The land is privately owned and is being marketed as a single investment project.
“This is a site for creating a popular destination: a luxury resort, a private club, or a large tourist complex. A large body of water, private space, natural landscape, and development potential,” the listing states.
Such offers have appeared in the region before. In 2020, the island of Kazdar on the Bukhtarma Reservoir was listed for sale. At that time, local authorities explained that the territory was privately owned. In the 1990s, the land was leased to a private individual, and in 2007 it became his property.
