Kazakhstan's national judo team wrapped up the individual competition at the Cadet World Championships in Ecuador with a record haul of 10 medals, including three golds, three silvers, and four bronzes, reports infohub.kz.

The third gold for the Kazakh team came from Adilzhan Zhaudinov, competing in the over-90 kg category. In the final, he faced Abdulmanaf Ramazanov and secured victory by ippon in extra time. En route to the title, Zhaudinov, ranked fourth in the world, also defeated Japan's Koga Teruki, Brazil's Jose Paulo Pereira, and France's Azriel Decenne Diffo.

Earlier, Gabit Rasulkhan (under 60 kg) and Fatima Supugalieva (under 52 kg) were crowned world champions. Supugalieva became the first female judoka from Kazakhstan to win a world title in her age group.

Silver medals were won by Adilzhan Nurbeken (under 50 kg), Adiya Zhanakhmet (under 40 kg), and Inzhu Zhumazhan (under 57 kg). Bronze medals went to Bekarys Kudaibergen (under 50 kg), Akhmet Baubek (under 60 kg), Erik Ussenov (under 66 kg), and Erken Bekali (under 73 kg).

The result in Ecuador is a record for Kazakhstan: the national team had never before won 10 medals or three golds at a single Cadet, Junior, or Senior World Championships. Moreover, Kazakh judokas won gold on each of the three days of individual competition.

On August 23, the World Championships will continue with the mixed team event. A total of 457 judokas from 59 countries are competing.
