In July 2025, Kazakhstan's auto market showed moderate growth: sales of new passenger and commercial vehicles increased by 5.9% compared to the same period last year, reaching 21,371 units, according to infohub.kz.
The undisputed sales leader remains the Chevrolet Cobalt: dealers sold 2,682 sedans of this model. However, the Chevrolet brand itself had a tough month, with sales dropping 29.5% to 2,855 vehicles.
Second place went to the Hyundai Tucson with 1,851 crossovers sold. This model remains one of the key ones for the Korean brand, which retained its leadership among brands with 3,712 vehicles sold. However, Hyundai's annual dynamics are still negative: over seven months, sales fell by 24.7%.
The real sensation of July was the Changan CS35 MAX. This compact crossover sold 1,070 units and entered the top three best-selling models of the month for the first time. Sales of the Changan brand itself soared by 171.7% compared to July last year, reaching 2,456 vehicles.
Another notable result came from the Kia Cerato: in July, the model was purchased 1,031 times, securing fourth place in the overall ranking. The top five is rounded out by the Kia Sportage (820 units), which had dropped out of the top 10 for a couple of months. Changan rose to fourth place among all brands, trailing only Hyundai, Chevrolet, and Kia. Another fast-growing player is BYD: 2,588 electric and hybrid vehicles over seven months, up 176.2% from the previous year.
