Kazakhstan and China signed 50 commercial agreements at the Kazakhstan–China investment forum, with the total value of the documents estimated at $8.2 billion, according to infohub.kz.

Earlier, Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev held meetings with the heads of several Chinese companies: Hong Kong Sino-Science Oil and Gas (Yin Caiwan), VNET Group (Chen Sheng), Shanghai Junhe Atomic Technology (Tian Jiashu), and Silk Road Finance Corporation (Li Shan). The talks focused on prospects for joint projects in energy, digitalization, and finance. Among the possible areas under consideration is the production of small modular nuclear reactors in Kazakhstan.

The head of state also met with Zhong Yong, senior president of UBTECH Robotics Corp. The president welcomed the company's plans to open a plant in Almaty to produce educational and service robots. According to him, this will be UBTECH's first production facility outside China. The sides also discussed cooperation with Kazakh universities and colleges and the creation of a joint competence center.

It was also announced that Chinese investors will build two large plants worth a total of $1.6 billion in the Abai region.

In addition, Samruk-Energo (a subsidiary of Samruk-Kazyna) reached an agreement to build two wind power plants (WPPs) of 500 MW each with China Energy Overseas Investment Co., Ltd. and SANY Renewable Energy Co., Ltd.
