A single day of illegal earnings cost a 19-year-old native of Turkistan Region seven years in prison — a court in Kokshetau handed down the sentence, according to infohub.kz.

The press service of the Akmola Region Police Department said the young man was looking for easy money and found an ad on a social network for a job as a drug courier. His handlers explained how to set up drug caches and pass on their coordinates. He then began his illegal activity.

However, he lasted only one day at his new "job." Almost immediately, the young man caught the attention of officers from the drug crime unit.

During the investigation, police found 24 packets of a psychotropic substance on him. The suspect also showed officers the locations of the caches he had set up. There, too, doses of drugs prepared for sale were discovered.

The young man fully admitted his guilt in the illegal sale of narcotics. He explained his actions by a desire to earn money.

The court sentenced him to 7 years in prison, to be served in a medium-security penal institution.
