A Kyrgyz citizen driving from Yekaterinburg back to his homeland lost a wallet containing money and documents while traveling through Kazakhstan, and law enforcement officers from two countries helped him recover it, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the press service of the Akмола Regional Police Department, the incident occurred on October 5. The man was unaware of a theft and could not pinpoint exactly where the loss happened: he knew only that it occurred somewhere between Akmola and Karaganda regions.

In Karaganda region, the driver turned to patrol police officers for help. He then continued on to Kyrgyzstan, with little hope of getting his belongings back. But the items were found.

After the wallet was discovered, officers of Kyrgyzstan's vehicle search unit contacted Ilyas Shaimerdenov, deputy head of the public security department at the Akmola Regional Police Department. With his assistance and that of colleagues in Karaganda, the return of the lost items to the owner was arranged.

In the end, thanks to the professional cooperation and mutual assistance of police in the two countries, the wallet with all its money and documents was returned to its rightful owner.
