A resident of the Zhambyl region has been sentenced to life imprisonment for assaulting his 8-year-old relative, reports infohub.kz citing KTK.

The girl herself told her mother about the incident, complaining of pain. The mother contacted the police, and forensic examination confirmed the assault. According to case materials, the man visited the relatives under the pretext of asking for a Wi-Fi password, placed the child on his lap, and committed the crime. He partially admitted his guilt. The verdict was handed down in a closed court session of the Specialized Interdistrict Criminal Court of the Zhambyl Region. "By the court's verdict, S. was found guilty under Part 4 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He was sentenced to life imprisonment," the court's press service reported.
