The Kazakhstan men's national volleyball team suffered its first defeat at the 2026 Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Championship in Islamabad, according to infohub.kz.
In the second round of the tournament in Pakistan, the team, coached by Sergey Trikoza, faced Uzbekistan. The match went the full five sets and ended in a 2-3 loss (25:19, 22:25, 29:27, 24:26, 14:16).
This is the team's first loss of the tournament. In the opening match, Kazakhstan defeated Nepal by the same scoreline.
The next match is scheduled for July 24 against Bangladesh. A total of six teams are participating in the Central Asian championship, including Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Each team will play each other once, and the round-robin will determine the champion and medalists.
