Kazakhstan began accepting applications on August 12 for the competition for state educational grants for master's degree studies. Applications can be submitted until August 18 inclusive through university admissions committees, including virtual ones, reports infohub.kz.
About 58,000 people took part in the comprehensive testing. Applicants who scored the established passing score can apply for educational grants. Grants will be distributed on a competitive basis based on the results of the comprehensive testing.
To participate in the competition, applicants must provide a copy of their ID, a higher education diploma with an appendix, a comprehensive testing certificate, and, if available, an international certificate confirming foreign language proficiency.
When submitting an application, applicants can choose one group of educational programs and indicate up to three universities.
In total, about 11,000 state educational grants are provided for master's degree studies.
The lists of grant recipients are planned to be published by August 25 on the official website and on the social media accounts of the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, the ministry, and the National Testing Center.
Enrollment of future master's students will be completed by August 28.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Kazakhstan had begun accepting applications for educational grants allocated by akimats. In 2026, local executive bodies provided 2,392 grants for bachelor's, master's, and residency programs, including for training specialists in fields in demand in the regions.
