Kazakhstan has announced preliminary results of the comprehensive testing for master's program admission, with 67 participants violating the rules, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, more than 43,000 applicants took the test. For the scientific-pedagogical direction, 44% of applicants scored above the threshold, while for the professional direction, it was 21%. The average score for the scientific-pedagogical direction was 75, and for the professional direction, 23. The highest score was 138.
It is noted that the threshold score for admission to master's programs in the scientific-pedagogical direction is 75 points, and for the professional direction, 30 points. Additionally, since the start of testing, results of 67 participants have been annulled due to rule violations. Among them, 49 applicants were not allowed to take the test for attempting to bring smartphones, cheat sheets, and other prohibited items. During the test, 18 people were removed from the auditoriums for violating rules, and their results were also annulled.
If applicants disagree with the results of the comprehensive testing, they can file an online appeal after the testing is completed. The appeal is reviewed within 7 working days, after which the applicant's certificate will be available in their personal account, the ministry noted.
The ministry reminded that in total, more than 61,000 applications were submitted for the comprehensive testing. Meanwhile, about 11,000 grants have been allocated for master's studies this year.
