Kazakhstan's Ministry of Health has amended the procedure for mandatory medical examinations, with the updated rules set to take effect on October 3, 2026, according to infohub.kz.
According to Kazakhstan's Reference Bank of Normative Legal Acts, the changes will affect employees undergoing pre-shift medical examinations.
The document sets out in detail medical contraindications, the procedure for examining employees, and the referral of workers for occupational pathology examinations.
In particular, it now establishes a deadline for referral when an occupational disease is suspected. If an employee is suspected of having a chronic occupational disease, they must be referred to a medical organization providing specialized care in the field of occupational pathology. The referral must be arranged within three working days.
In addition, medical contraindications for clearance to work in harmful and (or) hazardous conditions will be revised.
For employees with experience working in harmful conditions, a separate frequency of medical examinations is being introduced — examinations will be conducted once every five years.
